Teacher’s occupational commitment is that teachers maintain their identities andhave subjective wills to continue the teaching work in educational field. Teacher’soccupational commitment is the theory of commitment applied in the field ofeducation. Teachers are the subject who engage in teaching in education,occupational commitment is an important factor which both affects the intention ofoccupational attitudes and behaviors,and determines teacher’s participation andsustainability of education activities and their educational accreditations and efforts.The study has investigated80teachers in early childhood education institutionsof Lanzhou city by combining questionnaire and interviews. According to the study,the conclusions are as follows:1. Teacher’s occupational commitment is at middle level in early childhoodinstitutions of Lanzhou city.2. The highest one is the normative commitment, the second is the affectivecommitment,and ideal commitment, opportunity commitment and economiccommitment are the lowest.3. The normative commitment has a significant positive correlation withteacher’s age. The teacher’s teaching experience has a significant positive correlationwith the occupational commitment and the normative commitment. Income level hasa significant positive correlation with the normative commitment, ideal commitmentand the occupational commitment.Facing the situation that the teacher’s occupational commitment should beimproved, we should adopt the following measures to improve:1.improve thequalification system, promote teachers’ professional level;2.Clear the jobresponsibilities of the early childhood teachers, strengthen the role of identity;3.Strengthen the pre job training shorten the adaptation period;4. Perfect the rewardmechanism to wake up the sense of belonging;5.focus on the influence to teacher’soccupational commitment which is caused by work factors.
