China is a unified multinational country. The exchanges and integration amongnations are the mainstream trend of national relations’ development. And intermarriedfamily as an important place of national integration, its research has a certain practicaland guiding significance.The method of qualitative research and the way of household interview are adoptedin this paper to carry out a research for the Dorbod Mongolian Autonomous Country,Daqing City of Heilongjiang Province, and through the interview materials to explorethe cultural differences between Mongolian and Han nationalities, as well as its impacton the relationships between Mongolian and Chinese intermarried families. It takes theperformance characteristic of the cultural differences between the Mongolian and Hannationalities as the starting point, and analyzes from four aspects of the racial continuityconcepts, attitudes of interpersonal relation management, family rights structures andways of family education, so as to have a key and selectively describe the differencesbetween Mongolian and Han nationalities’ cultures. It also finds the differentiation offamily structures on cultural differences, including two different operation modes ofintermarried families of “male Mongolian and female Chinese style” and “femaleMongolian and male Chinese style”, and the “male Mongolian and female Chinesestyle” families are most obvious affected by the cultural differences. The familyrelationships are complicated and extensive. This paper chooses three relationshipswhich are typical in the relationships of Mongolian and Chinese intermarried families:the relationship between husband and wife, the relationship between mother-in-law anddaughter-in-law and the relationship between parent and child. It describes the statewhich presents under the creation of the cultural differences between Mongolian andHan nationalities, and tries to find out the basic factors that affect the relationshipsbetween the Mongolian and Chinese intermarried families. The dominance of the malein the relationship between husband and wife is one of the main factors; and theabsolute power of mother-in-law is one of the main factors in the relationship betweenmother-in-law and daughter-in-law; and in the relationship between parent and kid, theparent-child relationship confusion brought about by cultural differences is theimportant challenge for the Mongolian and Chinese intermarried families. Under the trend of gradual integration of national cultures, the cultural differencesbetween Mongolian and Han nationalities have always been there because of theuniqueness and self-reflective ability of Mongolian nationality’s traditional culture. Theadjustment for the Mongolian and Chinese intermarried family relationships should bebased on the premise of respect, and the relevant policies should be well implementedso as to provide a useful reference for the construction of a harmonious and happyintermarried life of Mongolian and Han nationalities.
