Objective: Carrying out a thorough research of the basketball teaching of vocationalcolleges at western Shandong, to provide a reference for the development of the sport ofbasketball of western Shandong based on the analysis.Methods: Adopt to the method of expert interview law, document data law, questionnaireto inquire into law, mathematical statistics, logical analysis and other research methods, totake the basketball teaching of western Shandong vocational colleges into research. Thesurvey mainly include: The first, the investigation and analysis of the status of thebasketball teaching of western Shandong vocational colleges. Including the basketballteaching materials, basketball teaching content, teaching methods and means, theevaluation system of the teaching and so on. The second, the status of the students’participating the extracurricular sports activities. Including the frequency and time, theparticipation rates and gender identity, the motivation and interest of the students toparticipate in basketball, the formation of the school basketball team and the gamecircumstances of the team and so on. inside and outside. The third, the investigation of thebasketball teachers’ faculty. Including the age and gender, the title structure, theeducational structure, the scientific research and circumstances training. By analyzing thecontents of the above, to follow the conclusions and recommendations.Conclusions:1.The students of western Shandong vocational college have a relatively high interestand good motivation in basketball, and is basically satisfied for the teaching contents. Butthe dissatisfied at the lack of facilities of the school’s basketball court, the learningmaterials, teaching methods and the basketball culture atmosphere.2.The surveyed vocational colleges have all adopted a elective teaching model inbasketball teaching. The students have a higher learning enthusiasm and participationbecause that they chose basketball lesson for their own interests independently. But areunsatisfied for the basketball teaching materials and the contents. There is not a suitablematerials according to their characteristics so far. 3.The basketball teachers title structure is not reasonable in the four vocationalcolleges, mainly young teachers, and the senior ranks of teachers have a low proportion,the educational level is not high compared to other professional teachers, the number ofwomen teacher is too small, and job training and continuing education of teachers is notenough.4.The evaluation system of the teaching is reasonable basically, but the data is stillplay a most important role in it. The evaluation criteria does not reflect the quality, and cannot be uses the right guidance and incentives for teachers.5.The currently funding of hardware facilities for basketball teaching has not beenough. The basketball venue, a dedicated sports reference library, and the multimediaclassrooms are all be in short. At the same time, the teaching form is too monotonous,students can not gained the adequate information to expand their vision, so a better resultscan not be achieved.6.The main factors affecting the basketball teaching of the surveyed vocationalcolleges including the quality of teachers, and students level, the school’s basketballatmosphere, the evaluation system of teaching, the attention school paid on it, as well asthe related policy development and so on.
