Study Of The Influence Of Dragon Dance To The Sports Culture In College Campus In China

As a traditional sports item in China with thousands years history, the dragon dancereflects the wisdom and diginity of ancient Chinese people. To be entitled “the Descendents ofthe Dragon”, one of the reasons is the spreading and extension of the Dragon Culture all overChina. Every important festival, such as Spring Festival, Lantern’s Day, etc, people will playDragon Dance for expression their heartful joy, the Dragon Dance has become an integral partof Chinese Civilization.Due to the positive function of Dragon Dance for physical health and its long history,the kind of sports is now introducing to campus. In1997, Beijing Sports University importedseveral traditional sports such as Dragon Dance, Lion Dance into sports course. In2000, theZhongnan University and several colleges in Hunan Province appealled “the Promotion Planof Dragon Dance in Hunderds of Colleges”. From the activies in several colleges aboutdragon dance, the value of fitness and culture has been fully displayed, and also means thegragon dance has been promoted with scientific, regular, compatitionized and popular way.On the pace of dragon dance in college campus, the related study have been becoming hot.The study makes an analysis on mutlilateral influence on cultural value, construction ofcampus with the method of literature, interview and logical analysis.The result found, Dragon Dance has focused on4levels in sports culture in Chinesecollege campus, which includs: spirite level, material level, regulation level and action level.Dragon dance reflect spiritual level lies on the sprite, sense, fashion, aim and knowledge, etc.Dragon dance lies cultural material level on fund, books, field facility; Dragon dance liescultural level on teaching system, course setting, teaching method, teaching evaluation;Dragon dance lies action level on the relationship among indivaduality and others,indivaduality and group, indivaduality and society, etc. Meanwhile, the study also ask forincreasing the progress in campus, fully enhanced the function and suggestion in enhancingthe physical level for college students.Dragon dance is still in initial stage, its development and colorized has positivefunction on the sports culture development in our college campus building need fullydiscovering and recognizing. We look forward to introducing more dragon dance course into sports course, for improving sports culture in college campus, and providing an improvementof students physical condition.
