CBA League Star Players Current Transfer Situation And Solution Research

China Basketball Association (CBA) has experienced19seasons by now since it was professionalizedin1995. During the19seasons, CBA has developed from the original12clubs to18clubs. At present CBAhas been on the right track and the operating mode has become professional and business-like. However,due to the late development, there are inevitable problems on the way from the initial stage to the finalprofessionalism. This paper chooses some problems discovered in the CBA developing process, analysesthe process of players transfer, and particularly studies the dispute in the transfer of the star-players.Besides, this paper also tries to formulate a suitable player transfer system with the reference of the relatedexperiences of NBA players’ transfer and the consideration of CBA development situation.This paper elaborately and objectively studies and analyses the current market of CBA player transferand situation of star-player transfer by adopting many research methods such as Documentary Method,Mathematical Statistic Method and Comparative Analysis Method.Firstly, there are4major ways of CBAplayer transfer–the foreign transfer, the domestic transfer, the temporary domestic transfer and Hong Kong,Macao&Taiwan transfer, among which the temporary domestic transfer most frequently appears. Thefrequency of other three is quite low. What’s more, the establishment of player transfer rules is notobjective and wholesome, and this largely obstruct the normal transfer of players, resulting into a depressedtransfer market. Secondly, there are many elements that hinder the player transfer, and these elements arethe key points of this research.1. Obstruction from player transfer system. This refers to the registrationand transfer system of CBA players.2. Obstruction from clubs. The clubs give priority to itsself-development, paying little attention to the players’ benefits. This restricts the free transfer of someplayers.3. Obstruction from the ownership of players’ personnel relations. Sports Council and the clubshave no unified management of players’ personnel relations, which affects the players’ transfer. And it alsolimits the circulation of players with the chips of the National Games. At the end of a series of measures is proposed in order to solve the player transfer problems. Itincludes improving the player transfer system, coordinating the relations among the three institutions,opening the marker of player transfer, modifying the player transfer system, training backup talents and soforth.
