The new curriculum standards of human culture put forward new requirements,which is how to adapt to the requirements of the new curriculum in high schoolgeography teaching to improve the quality of education has become a common topicof global education. To truly improve the quality of education, we must do a good jobof effective teaching. Concerning teaching effectiveness, and concerning theeffectiveness of students’ learning should become the consciousness of each teacher’sbehavior.In this thesis, geography teaching theory, effective teaching modern learningtheory and related theories, on the current status of teaching high school geographyconduct research, analyze the problems, for lack of students’ ability to pointcomplement different types of knowledge, combined with the knowledge Categorytheory textbook teachers can have a more accurate grasp of the knowledge of thestudents’ background knowledge and cognitive psychology, have a betterunderstanding on students’attitudes, and thus have a clearer goal of teaching design,depending on the goals and subjects of different options the teacher can choosediverse teaching methods.This thesis is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction of effective teaching research status atdomestic and abroad, to carry out the significance of this research study and basicresearch methods;The second chapter, describes the theoretical basis used in this study, mainlyincluding defining the concept of effective teaching and effective teachingconcepts,character,strategy and so on. Knowledge-based classification of cognitivepsychology describes the classification of knowledge in this thesis;The third chapter, this thesis views of the current high school geography teachingpresent situation and carries on the special interview and investigation, statistics andanalysis of the results, and summarizes some main problems existing in the currenthigh school geography teaching;The fourth chapter, is to carry out high school geography teaching strategies based on the theory of knowledge classification, knowledge of declarative knowledge,intellectual skills, cognitive skills, strategies and actions in four areas of teaching howto do a detailed, and at the macro with the knowledge classification theory to guideteaching reform, teaching grasp objects, refine teaching objectives, teaching modechoice, hope to help to improve the effectiveness of high school geography teaching;The fifth chapter, this thesis describes the work done during the study, and theinadequacies of the outlook for future issues.
