The Cultivation Of The National Spirit Of College Students

The Chinese national spirit originated from the process of the development of Chinesehistory and culture. The Chinese national spirit is the driving force of an overall developmentin society. College students are the fresh troops of the construction of socialism. Thecultivation of the national spirit of college students concerns the realization of the ChineseDream, the enhancement of Chinese cultural soft power, the enhancement of our nationalcohesion and the enhancement of sinicization of Marxism. Based on policies and experiencesof the Chinese Communist Party on cultivating the Chinese national spirit, the researchexplored the guiding principle and feasibility of the practice way of the cultivation of nationalspirit of college students through the actual investigation about the present situation of thenational spirit of college students.Based on the analysis of the bad influence of westerncultural imperialism on our country, the cultivation of the national spirit of college studentsplayed a significant role in the process of the realization of Chinese dream, the promotion ofnational self-confidence and national pride, the enhancement of the "soft power" of ourcountry culture and the resistance of the western alienation. Previous studies are lack of themaneuverability of practical approaches and the systematization of basic components ofcultivation and the understanding of the present situation which college students know andpractice the national spirit. Hence, my research, basing on the present situation which collegestudents know and practice the national spirit, have an innovation on the maneuverability ofpractical approaches and the systematization of basic components of cultivation.Accordingto the results of questionnaires and interviews, this paper discussed positive and negativeperformances of the national spirit of college students. From the diversity of social ideologicaltrend, Moral declination, western alienation, the neglect of college education, the badinfluence of friend-group and family education, this paper discussed the reason why nationalspirit of college students had these negative performances.Based on the analysis ofconnotations and function of Chinese national spirit, this paper respectively made patriotism,unity, peace-loving, industrious and brave, and an unyielding as the core, primary, inevitable,important and basic content of the cultivation of national spirit of college students. Aiming atnew characteristics of the development of age, moreover, this paper discussed that it is thespiritual driving force to realize Chinese dream, the necessary request to enhance Chinese cultural soft power, the necessary choice to enhance our national cohesion, the only way topropel sinicization of Marxism.Based on policies and experiences of the Chinese Communist Party on cultivating theChinese national spirit, the research explored the guiding principle and feasibility of thepractice way of the cultivation of national spirit of college students through the actualinvestigation about the present situation of the national spirit of college students. Fromaspects of society education, college education, family education and friend-group, this paperexplored practical ways and specific measures to cultivate the national spirit of collegestudents.
