| With the development of the modern basketball, the fight for the control of ballbecomes more and more fierce, and controlling rebound is the most effective way tocontrol ball. In most high-level competitions, traditional excellent teams havestrengthened their rebound control, because to some extent, rebound can affect thegame’s trend. Controlling defense rebound can prevent opponent’s second-chanceoffensive and create opportunity for fast-break; controlling offensive rebound canincrease the chance for second-chance offensive, and can also strengthen teammates’confidence in3-point shooting. Hence improving the rebound ability is meaningful tothe development of both men and women’s basketball. This essay emphasis on studying the rebound ability of the CUBA women’s finalfour teams, using literature data, AHP, expert interview, statistics method and surveymethod, then analysis their ability and factors which affect this ability, and finally cometo a conclusion:1) The CUBA women’s final four teams have the most excellent and closestability among all of the national university women basketball teams, so every team paysmore attention to rebound. In final four teams northern teams more than southern teams, some northern teams have more tall and strong inside players, which enables them tohave better control of rebound; they are tall and have excellent arm span;southernplayers are not as strong as northern players and can not control rebound well comparedwith them. southern teams rely more on their forwards’ power to grabrebounds;however, both northern and southern teams’ guards are weaker in theawareness of rebound. So in the national final four competitions, southern teams canhardly beat northern teams.2) In the CUBA women’s final four teams, there are only few players who graboffensive rebound. From the game’s technical statistics we can see that only BeijingNormal University and Beijing University have more than200offensive rebounds inone season, however, other teams are not as good as these two teams in this aspect. Players don’t value offensive rebound. As mentioned before, controlling offensiverebound can increase the chance for second-chance offensive, and can also strengthenteammates’ confidence in3-point shooting.Offensive rebound enables second-chanceoffensive, a team’s second-chance score can reflect its offensive rebound ability. Thekey for Beijing Normal University to won consecutive championships is that it has thebest offensive rebound ability and can make effective fast-break after offensive rebound.3) In the CUBA women’s final four teams, the HUST makes the most fast-breakafter grabbing defense rebound, which is one of the reasons that keep HUST in the finalfour for a long term. Although northern teams have better ability to grab rebounds, theydon’t often make fast-break.4) In the analysis of influential factors on the scrambling rebound basketballability, we can divide relevant18factors into five main factors: the competitionawareness factor, flexibility factor, body shape factor, scrambling ability factor andcooperation factor. Among which, the most important factor is the competitionawareness factor, along with the other four factors. This paper also makes an analysis onthe influential degree of each factor. In the competition awareness factor, retaining andseizing the best location matters most; in the flexibility factor, protection of therebounds is the most important; the height influences the body shape factor in thehighest degree; resistance ability is most important in the scrambling ability factor; andin the cooperation factor, the strength of the body matters the most. This papersynthesizes every most influential factor, all of which are most important factors ofscrambling rebound basketball ability. |
