Research Purpose:Selecting the great players always closely relate to the development and quality of a team. Upon reading some existing researches, this paper found that the researches about selecting players are mostly qualitative, individual, and partial or microscopically researches. The majority of these researches lack of quantitative calculation, and are not from the point of view of the overall system to analyze the roots of many problem. In response to this situation, this paper uses a micro perspective to explore the problem of a team’s selecting players, and strives to take a deeper look at this issues in order to ensure the study to be comprehensive, detail and accurate.Research method:This paper is by means of documentary, interview and questionnaire, and statistics. Document-data method provides the researches ideas and theoretical support for the study. The mathematical statistics method is to obtain valid data using SPSS13.0and Excel2003. The interview and questionnaire is designs for trying find out the difficulty of selecting players and answer questions about players’ concept of selecting, the importance of selecting players, the restrictions of selecting.Research conclusion:1.The main factors of impacting college athletes’ needs are the total number of players, players’ update rate and the types of the players. Most of the players in the CUBA are from the senior high school. The player’s conveying is determined by the regional resource of players, and is interfered by some factors like admissions policies, geographical features, urban development, team record, and others. Colleges and universities mainly enroll players from local province and there are individual differences among colleges and universities. As to the total number of transporting players, there are significant differences among different provinces, but not no significant differences in conveying different positions of the players. Affected by the natural conditions, technical requirements and environmental characteristics and other factors, some provinces have different focus on developing players. Athletes can enter colleges and universities to participate in high-level sports teams through the ordinary channels, prescribed channels and unique channels.2.There are three inherent methods for the final eight teams to select players:1) single way. including the system of "Universities-Secondary" one-stop training mode, the schools characteristics of basketball, good cooperation schools.2) Fixed way; in the mode of "priority province, provinces extend " and " extended provinces, individual province ".3) Multiple ways; having the feature of "local priority balanced with the other areas" and "four division evenly distributed ".3.The conveying performance of the secondary school, from the point of conveying number, is decreased with the reduction of the number. Seeing from the stage performance, there are concentrated, intermittent and continuous types of different stages according to the time of the secondary schools’conveying players; and from the players’different positions, there are two kinds, one is according to the number and the other the proportion.4. After studying the selecting approaches, the paper finds out that the difficulty of selecting players are from the institutional conflicts, the lack of platforms and conceptual mistakes, improving the institutional system in order to recognize and acknowledge CUBA’s phasic results, reveal some shortcomings of the selection in making platform, sharing information, admissions policies, base construction. These confirm the importance of selecting players. The institutional conflicts are long-standing and complex problems, which must be solved while developing college basketball and competitive sports. This paper is designed to provide a reference for future reform.
