Objective:By Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis measuring body fat percentage, the research was to explore sex & age characteristic of fat% by doing body composition test on large numbers of people in the first step. Due to tight relationship between obesity and metabolic disease, the second step was to get proper method to make standard of evaluating overweight and obesity by fat% 。 All in all, providing scientific foundation is the main purpose to prevent the prevalence of overweight and obesity in China. Methods:People aged 20 to 59 were recruited into the research. In the first step,1728 subjects (male,830;female 898) were measured body composition test to get age & sex characteristics of fat%; After that, 798 subjects in the first step were tested their blood pressure, Fasting Plasma Glucose, Triglyceride, High-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol and Total Cholesterol. Data in the research were analyzed by Spss 16.0 and Excel 2003, which includes difference, correlation and ROC curve analysis.Results:(1) with age increasing, fat% in male and female increased with age groups. Males can be divided into 20-29 and 30-59 age groups and females can be divided into 20-49 and 50-59 age groups. (2)Fat% has positive correlation with SBP、DBP、FBG、TG and TC and negative correlation with HDL-C. Moreover, with the increase of the number of health related risk factors, fat% present trend of increase. When it comes to at least two factors, the results have significance difference with the other two groups (healthy group and one factor-group), which can be defined the cluster of risk factors. (3)For males aged 20-29 and 30-59, when fat% was 26.3% and 21.2 separately, sensitivity and specificity had the best level and the distance of ROC curve was the least. When fat% came to 29.5% and 30.1% separately, specificity was up to 90%. For females aged 20-49 and 50-59, when fat% was 28.7% and 30.7 separately, sensitivity and specificity had the best level and the distance of ROC curve was the least. When fat% came to 29.5% and 36.1 separately, specificity was up to 90%.Conclusions:(1) Combined by healthy related risk factors with obesity, ROC curve has feasibility to make proper cutoffs to evaluate overweight and obesity by fat%. (2)The proper cutoffs of fat% to evaluate males’ overweight aged 20-29 and 30-59 was 26.3% and 21.2% separately. For obesity, the cutoff was 29.5% and 30.1%, separately. The proper cutoffs of fat% to evaluate females’overweight aged 20-49 and 50-59 was 28.7% and 30.7% separately. For obesity, the cutoff was 33.5% and 36.1%, separately. (3) According to PARP analysis above cutoffs, for males aged 30 to 59 and females, if cufoffs of fat% were controlled bellowed 21.2%,28.7% and 30.7%, rate to prevent health related factors maybe 61.5%,50% and 61.1%. Combined by medicine,if fat% canbe controlled below 30.1%,33.5% and 36.1%, rate to prevent health related factors maybe 14.6%,18.2% and 30.6%.
