Bayu Bench Dragon Culture Heritage And Development Status

Bench Dragon is a typical folk sports that represents the regional classical folk culture. It is created by the combination of long-time respected dragon culture, long historical culture in Bayu Area and classical karst landforms. Bayu Bench Dragon, as a typical folk culture, gains a great popularity in Bayu Area, is a most seen event activity during the festival celebration. The Bench Dragon symbolizes the peace, a bumper grain harvest and prosperity all the year round; it also brings the hope of the Bayu People for the beautiful things.This thesis is studied in Several Typical regions by the means of the document-based research, field study and interview, etc. this study includes the analysis of the Culture Structure by adopting the Folklore, cultureology, physical education thus came to the conclusion that there are four levels of the culture-material culture, spiritual culture, system culture and behavior culture. This study emphasizes the statement and analysis of material culture, spiritual culture and behavior culture. In the meantime, there is also a comprehensive analysis of culture origins, development, current developing status in campus sports and mass Sports, the sports value and culture heritage The Study found that Bayu Bench Dragon Culture had been deeply impeded and impacted by various cultures during the development period, however, nowadays, it reshows dazzlingly in front of the modern advanced technology. In some Area, the Bench Dragon has been applied as one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, that lead it to be the Key Protected Groups. The Bench Dragon is even listed as one of the Campus Sport programs as a sociality in Chongqing Chengjiang Primary School and Nanchuan Primary School. Furthermore, Bench Dragon also belongs extensive mass fitness programs that enhances the fitness of the people. Yet there are still some factors that constrains the Development of Bench Dragon Culture even though it had had a long history, for Example, There is a less popularity both in Society and in Campus. The Stage Properties in Beiquan and some other areas are either awkward or not being innovative, therefore, there is still a long way to go on the way of inheritage and development strategy in modern society for Bench Dragon Culture. Several measures are suggested to be taken under such circumstances:Enhance the Campus sports, put more investment bench Dragon programs, Organize more Bench Dragon events and color the stage properties under the leadership of government and Change the way of heritage for the same by the diversity of resources. It is hoped that this thesis can form a strong theory basis and study data for the development and heritage of Bench Dragon Culture.
