Fine motor development is one of the most important aspects to measure children’s development。The children’s daily life, learning, playing no one can go on without fingers. Children’s fine motor activities include single hand and double hands.On the basis of children’s self-care and learning action, the author will divide children’s daily fine motor actions into two parts,one is self-care action,the other is learning. In a word, the older, the higher level of children’s fine motor development.but not always conform to the law. With the development of society, gender differences in children’s fine motor development also cannot be presumed as before. In addition, partial correlation analysis between children’s fine motor development and cognitive development is also be mentioned.This paper uses the East Asia-Pacific Early Child Development Scales tested 400 children in 15 kindergartens of 5 District in Shanghai,discussed 3 to 5 years old children’s fine motor development on age and gender characteristics in Shanghai correlation between fine motor development and cognition development of children are also be analyzed. The research findings are as follows:1、The older, the higher level of children’s fine motor development, age differences can be seen in different tasks.2、Gender differences of fine motor development reflected in the four and five years old age group, but three years old group.3、Self-care and learning action were significantly related to each other.4、Learning action had higher correlation with cognitive development,self-care was the next.
