The historical development of social education in our country is one hundred years. As a similar role with school teachers, the healthy development of education is inseparable from the social educators who are the bearers, performers of social education, which has an inevitable impact on the development of social education. This paper study the qualities and cultivation of social educator, the main contents of this paper are the following aspects:First, the conception and classification of social educators. The concept of social educators were defined, namely social educators are highly social responsibility expertise in social education, who are exerting good influence on people in social educational institutions. Social educators were classified based on social educational institutions criteria and standards for the level of social educators.Second, the quality of social educators. Taking profession and occupation as the basis of classification, the quality structure of social educators were analyzed, including several aspects such as:Individuality qualities, professional ethics qualities, professional knowledge qualities, professional skill qualities and professional idea qualities, links between several quality factors are analyzed and the quality social educators with comprehensiveness, emotional and professional characteristics is drawn.Third, the factors of influence of social educators’qualities cultivation, the subjective and objective aspects of factor are analyzed. Subjective factors have personality factors and behavioral factors, social educator’s personality factors include education value, understanding of profession development, the behavior of self evaluation and reflection. Learning, scientific researching, teaching, reflection and cooperation affect the formation of social educators qualities. Objective factors mainly probes into the outside body, such as country, training institutions, affect the cultivation of social educators qualities.Fourth, the principle of the social educators’cultivation. In this paper, we analysis that the principle of social educators’cultivation have independent development principle, practical principle, the timely principle, the cumulative principle and systematic principle. Independent development principle means the establishment of independent consciousness, the implementation of autonomous behavior and independent evaluation. Practical principle emphasizes that the qualities cultivation of social educators need social educators are always in the practice. Timely principle refers to that the qualities of social educators must keep pace with the times, in accordance with the law of development, grasp the best development opportunity. Cumulative principle refers to the qualities of social educators must pay attention to the connection of qualitative change and quantitative transformation. Systemic principle refers to that we must pay attention to the improvement of the concept of the establishment of training system, training and the absorption of research results, combine the these aspects to establish social educators to develop training system.Fifth, the way of social educator’s cultivation. The ways of quality cultivation of social educator include three aspects, named the pre-service education, in-service training and mutual assistance. The pre-service education of social educator quality are the establishment of my consciousness, behavior, practice and self-examination, it is a form of formal education. In-service education of social educator’s quality cultivation mainly depend on the special training institutions and other institution for training. The mutual assistance aims to help disadvantaged social educator, to realize resource optimizing configuration.
