In the process of acquiring a foreign language, error correction is the response to the errors that made in the foreign language learning by the learners. However,many researches on error correction has been carried out in the western countries, few researches has been done in Chinese, especially in junior high school. Thus, this paper mainly explore the teachers’ and students’ attitude towards error correction and the application of error correction strategies in the actual English class under the foundation of Contrastive Analysis, Error Analysis and Interlanguage. The subjects of this study consist of 6 English teachers and 60 students in Tu Kouzi Junior Middle School, the author uses observation, questionnaire and interview to collect data. The study shows that both the students and the teachers hold positive attitudes towards error correction. The proper use of error correction strategies can improve teachers’ teaching and students’ learning. Therefore, when choosing the correction strategies,the effectiveness of error correction and the students’ preference should be taken into consideration. By doing so, the students’ English learning can be improved. |
