In recent years, the new curriculum reform has made great impact on China’s basic education, which changes the traditional curriculum ideas and inherent curriculum system. Therefore the teachers will be confronted with great challenges. To fit in with the needs of times’ development, teachers must keep pace with the times ideally and ideologically, and implement the goals and ideas of the new curriculum reform in practical teaching. The increasing disadvantages of traditional teachers requires them to reflect on their current roles—reposition the roles they are playing, put themselves in place in education and teaching, perform a successful role transformation through behavioral adjustment, according to the requirements of the new curriculum reform, so as to better finish their teaching work and profoundly understand the concepts and goals advocated by the new curriculum reform. The aim of the research, which adopts two kinds of scientific research methods—questionnaire and observation is to explore and analyze high school biology teachers’ behaviors in the process of role transformation in deep. This paper consists of four parts— Part one: overall analysis of the new curriculum reform, acquaintance with the background of new curriculum reform, definitude of the goals and ideas advocated by the curriculum reform, as well as specific requirements of ordinary high school biology curriculum standard for senior high school biology. Meanwhile this paper analyzes the traditional roles of teachers through the application of several metaphors, consults relevant information to analyze the types of teachers’ roles, position role orientation of modern teachers, and give specific analysis to teachers’ behaviors, thus laying the solid theoretical basis for the development of research. Part two: specification of the aim of questionnaire survey and adherent to the principle of questionnaire establishment before the careful designment of questionnaire. Taking high school biology teachers and students in teaching regions as investigation object to carry out the questionnaire practically. Through the analysis of the questionnaire for teachers and students, to discover the problems existing in teachers’ role transformation, comprehend the tendency and analyze the variation of teachers’ behaviors, and eventually find out the corresponding relation between teachers’ roles and their behaviors. Part three: illumination of the observation purpose, confirmation of the observation center and the observation object, and capture of the investigation method. Through the actual observation of teachers’ behaviors and intensive exposure to classrooms, to get understand about the current situation of teachers’ behaviors adjustment, analyze whether the teachers’ behaviors have changed, what are the changes and problems existing in the teachers’ behaviors. Part four: to match teachers’ behaviors with their roles and with teachers behavior to achievement on the basis of the consequence analysis of the questionnaire and behavior observation. Part five: to state the research conclusion and the future research direction.At present, for high school biology teachers, researches combining teachers’ roles with their behaviors are not yet widespread. The research achievement of this topic will promote the realization of teachers’ role conversion in the process of the implementation of the new curriculum, and simultaneously provide a reference for teachers’ professional development and the construction of teachers team.
