| Parents, as a guide helping children grow up, are not born with the knowledge and skills to be parents. Being good parents, it is a process of continuous learning. Under the environment which increasingly advocating home-school co-promote students’ growth, the link of home-school increasingly close, parents education seems to be more and more important. Parents involvement in schools is not only conducive to home-school forming a concerted effort to promote the healthy growth of children, and also an important learning opportunity for parents themselves, which has not been taken seriously in previous studies. In the paper, it takes Shanghai primary school Q as an example, studying six members in Parents Committee based on interview and observation. By analyzing the interactive activities during parent involvement, it concludes the impact of interaction on parents. Furthermore, it summaries the factors of parent involvement, and proceeds to provide some suggestions to promote better parents’ attendance and growth. The analysis of the parents’ interaction with other groups during the parent involvement in school education shows that parent involvement is a process of the interaction with teachers, parents and children. Parent-teacher interaction can be classified into emotion interaction and routine interaction which is the main form in parent-teacher interaction; parent-parent interaction is to exchange information and experience between parents; parent-children interaction is to be models to encourage and guide in children’s growth, and even to be closer to other children. The research found that the most obvious impact is the expansion in individual relationship; the next is the transition of the role of Parent Involvement, from the original bystander, supporter to a coordinator, an active cooperator. What parents can get is a comparatively small growth, because only if the suggestions from teachers or other parents are adaptive in their family and corresponded to their own education ideas, parents prefer to accept and carry out in their own family education. Parents’ character, parents’ education experience, the school attitude and their children’s performance, these factors can influence in parents’ attendance process, and then in their change and growth. |
