Mathematics concept teaching has been widespread attention, and the new cur-riculum standard pays more attention to the formation process of mathematical concept,and advocates that reveals the essence of the concept and background of concept as well as math-ematical thought, "trigonometric function of arbitrary angle " which has a long history is an important concept in high school. Whose definition reflects the important mathematical think-ing of combining numbers and forms. Based on the knowledge of trigonometric function and the concept teaching theory, author carries and analyses the actuality of "trigonometric function of arbitrary angle ", then put forward some effective the teaching methods to optimize concept teaching of " trigonometric function of arbitrary angle ", which has a practical significance to the teachers’teaching. Specific research ideas and findings are as follows:First of all, author did literature research for the "trigonometric functions of arbitrary angle " and "the concept teaching", which describes the historical development and the teaching content of "trigonometric function of arbitrary Angle ", then briefly describes mathematical concept and its teaching theory as a theoretical basis.Then, on the basis of theory, the study mainly focused on the actuality of "trigonomet-ric function of arbitrary Angle" through interviews, classroom observations, test investigation. Results are as follows:(1) most teachers’knowledge are limited to the present logical one in the textbooks. (2) teachers basically achieved the teaching requirements on the understanding of the teaching content, but lack teaching content skill. (3) teachers present the order of teach-ing contents is the same as the one in the textbook. (4) the methods of teaching are mainly composed of "lecture method ", that is "guide-question and answer-explain".Finally, by communicating with teachers, analyzing and improving teaching method, au-thor designs the teaching plan and puts it into practice, then comes to some conclusions as follows:(1) combining "question and answer" with discussion method of teaching method-s, is more likely to attract students’ interest. (2) From the perspective of functions, to study "trigonometric functions of any angle" by analogy with the acute ones can eliminate the neg-ative transfer of the old knowledge to new knowledge. (3) centered on the definition, then related the contact applications can highlight the teaching focus, and promote the formation of the concept for "trigonometric function of arbitrary angle".
