With the continuous development of new curriculum reform and the constant renewal of educational concept, the responsibilities of teachers involve not only imparting knowledge, but also providing some feasible service for students’development. The quality of teachers affects the healthy development of students and plays an important role in the teaching effect. As an English teacher, she must figure out a way to stimulate students’interest in English learning and cultivate students’motivation of learning English so as to help students obtain better learning effect. As a guide to students’English learning, English teachers’own personality charisma definitely has some influence on students’English learning motivation. Therefore, through the investigation into the effect of English teachers’the personality charisma on high school students’English learning motivation, this thesis offers some scientific suggestions on how to improve their personality charisma.This study uses two questionnaires as the research instrument, and high school students from two senior high schools of Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as the research object. On the basis of the researches on the components of teachers’ personality charisma by scholars, the author plans to analyze teachers’personality charisma from four aspects in the first questionnaire. The questionnaire has four dimensions:English teachers’character charisma, English teachers’morality charisma, English teachers’language charisma and English teachers’acqierement charisma. The second questionnaire, the effect of English teachers’personality charisma on high school students’English learning motivation, is slightly modified and developed from the first one. It includes four dimensions:the effect on students’English learning motivation by English teachers’character charisma, the effect on students’English learning motivation by English teachers’morality charisma, the effect on students’English learning motivation by English teachers’language charisma and the effect on students’English learning motivation by English teachers’acqierement charisma.The research focuses on two questions. (1) What is the overall situation of English teachers’personality charisma? (2) Does English teachers’personality charisma influence students’English learning motivation? If yes, to what extent?The results show that, (1) English teachers’personality charisma of senior high schools stays at a high level, especially their character charisma and morality charisma rank the top. (2) In general, English teacher’s personality charisma of senior high schools has a great influence on high school students’English learning motivation. The result reveals that the influence of English teachers’character charisma and acqierement charisma on students’English learning motivation is most obvious.According to the findings, in order to improve high school students’English learning motivation, this thesis has put forward some feasible suggestions from the perspective of English teachers and schools. As for English teachers, (1) They should develop their good character; (2) They ought to improve their professional skills; (3) They need to enhance their language charisma. Regarding schools, (1) School leaders should improve their consciousness of improving English teachers’personality charisma and make some contribution to it; (2) Schools need to build a suitable assessment system of English teachers’personality charisma, set up a psychological consultation platform for teachers and so on.
