Motivation is one of the major factors of learning process. It plays a very important part in English teaching The new English curriculum puts great emphasis on learning motivation which is recognized as one of the important goals of English learning and teaching. Unmotivated students are ineffectively involved in class and therefore unable to develop their language skills adequately. The author is much interested in the different factors in various senior high schools, including some key schools and ordinary schools as well. The paper classifies the possible motivational factors into seven kinds. Through online investigation and talk with some students and teachers, the author try to study the different influence of motivational factors on various senior high school. The seven kinds of English learning motivation includes inner motivation, such as interest, as well as outer motivation, for example, grades, going abroad, information, and so on. After study and investigation about the data collected through internet, the conclusion has been drawn that the students in key senior high schools have stronger English learning motivation regarding the motivation of information communication and the motivation of going abroad than those in ordinary schools and suburb schools. However, the suburb school students have higher motivation with respect to the motivation of interest and development. The students in ordinary schools have stronger motivations about responsibility and grades. The following four motivations including information, situation, going abroad, responsibility have comparatively lower influence on students on the whole. The conclusion and study give me some ideas and thoughts about teaching. As an English teacher, we muse insure that we should pay enough attention to various of students and increase students'interest and inner English learning motivation. The English teachers also should create relaxing and excellent learning atmosphere, including offering and recommending some English newspapers and magazines, showing the importance to communicate with native speakers. The last but not the least the English teachers should master the art of praise and criticism. As a result, the students will like teachers and English as well, and their inner English learning motivation will be increased.
