| Recently the research on basketball tactics is the focus of experts’ study, while that on track study to professional basketball tactics is a weakness. In this paper, using the case of Oklahoma Thunder Team, the author takes methods of literature review, video observation statistics, mathematical statistics, and logical analysis to track and study the three seasons of Oklahoma Thunder Team. It aims to find out Oklahoma Thunder Team’s characteristics of offensive skills and the relationship between team award and the flow of coaches and athletes. Ultimately, this would proved valuable references for the development of China’s professional basketball association. The mainly study results are as follows:1. In Oklahoma Thunder Team, the average employment length of coaches is seven years. Then there is a tight relationship among coaches, and the team members are very steady. As a result, Oklahoma Thunder Team keeps a stable statistics style.This is one of the most significant reasons that why this team could keep constant records in regular competitions.2. Oklahoma Thunder Team keeps superior records in three consecutive seasons of regular competitions. Both the scoring and loss are high, and generally, the team shows the characteristics of strong offensive and soft defensive. However, in the playoff, Oklahoma Thunder Team did not perform well. The efficiency of both the offensive and defensive showed a trend of decline. Influenced by the variation and injuries of team players, the line up and tactical methods changed greatly.3. In three seasons, Oklahoma Thunder Team adjusts the line up greatly through signing free agents, trading players, and selecting rookie players. The substitutes changed greatly, while the main players did not change. Through comparison, it is found that the main players’ contribution accounts for two third of the team victory.The stability of main players is the important reason to the stable record of the regular competition.4. The features of Oklahoma Thunder Team’s offensive skills are: shooting more2-point scores, shooting area is concentrating in the basket, 3-point scores relying on fixed strikers, laying particular stress on the perimeter offense, defenders and strikers are main scorers in the team, offensive tactics are reasonable and the FG% is high,less error, high ability to attack made free throw, mediocre capacity of rebounds, andthe team relying on high hit rate to speed up the pace to win the game.5. The features of Oklahoma Thunder Team’s tactics are: in the three seasons, the team applied the biggest proportion of personal attack in the composition of offensive tactics,followed by the basic cooperation, fixed tactics and fast break. When it comes to the success rate of application of tactics, generally, the fast break ranks the first,then the rushing break, positional fixed tactics cooperation, positional foundation cooperation, and positional personal attack. The fixed tactics focus start point on the perimeter players, and the main attack methods are moving cover among players and a wide range of movements. When the team is blocked in fixed tactics, the mostly used tactical approach is to rely the perimeter players’ personal tactics to end the offense. |
