| Paijiao people living in the China and Laos border area of Mangang village Mengla Country in Xishuangbanna.Now the world’s only 400 people, were living in Laos and Chinese Mangang village,Mangang village there are 198 people in 48 familes. Paijiao people with a population less as "marginalized" groups, in daily life and ritual celebrations have self-awareness and expression of ethnic identity, has its own unique sense of ethnic identity. Because of the historical, political and interest and other factors, row angular family at different times in the case of identity expression also showed different characteristics. Paijiao people in the 1990 census was attributed to Hani, but the people of the new row angular Clan identity do not agree. Thus, in recent years, social mobilization of local elites began looking for a National affiliation. They are constantly reshaping ethnic identity, trying to find a path of development "maximize" the interests of the ethnic group that is attributed to Jino.This thesis consists of three parts including introduction, body and epilog.In introduction, it makes a brief introduction to the topic selecting causes, the purpose of research and the research significance and methods. Moreover, it makes a brief introduction to the Chinese and overseas scholars on ethnic identity theory research and academia research on Identity of Piaojiao People’s identity.The body is divided into four chapters.In Chapter I, this thesis makes a general introduction to the Mengla Mangang Village Community background in aspects including geographic position and historical development of mengban County, as well as the origin, geographical environment and village history, population, family and means of livelihood of mangang’ s Paijiao people.In Chapter II, we analyzes the the process of establishing national identity and choice. Through Country by the Paijiao People’s national identification, so that Paijiao People completed by the people to change the identity of family. Paijiao People from history so far has been very complex ethnic composition. With the Paijiao People Belong change of identity, they come to realize of ethnic identity importance of development, so the local cultural elite began a civil select Belong identity and social mobilization process.
