A Study Of The First Initiative In Double Men’ Of Badminton Games

Taking the 4 teams which rank top 10 between the end of 2011 to 2012 on the BWF ranking of double men’ of badminton games as the object of the study, taking the Super series Primer,Olympic Games and Thomas Cup between the end of 2011 to 2012 concerning these 4 teams as samples, every Shot Skills and Shot Route of the First Initiative of each shot was recorded, and so was the Shot Skills and Shot Route of last shot. the model of the First Initiative skills can be built by comparing Shot Skills and Shot Route in various circumstances. If the research and comparing of the Shot Skills and Shot Routes are made,there are some universal regular patterns we can realize,which can provide some suggestion for badminton training.The universal regular pattern from the study is:Usually,the Straights which are short,fast,invariant are better than the Crosscourts which are long and variant in the double men’ of badminton games.The superiority will be lose as the length to the net go farther.The performance is there are little Crosscourts among the Near-net shots while there are a little more Crosscourts among the Mid-court shots,and at last,there are a large number of Crosscourts among the Backcourt shots.The regular pattern can be used among services as well. Among the Frontcourt services,there are little the Crosscourts to the No.2 point. While among the Backcourt services,there are the Crosscourts to No.4 point as many as the Straights to No.3 point.There are some typical model of the Shot Skills and Shot Route to create First Initiative.There,by the order of frequency of use,are(1)Short low service----Straight Net shot----Lift;(2) Short low service----Straight Pushing---Lift;(3)Short low service----Pushing Aim-at-body---Lift;(4)Pushing----Straight Pushing---LiftThere are notable differences between the 4 teams in the skill on First Initiative creation:(1)The most impressive skill on First Initiative creation of CAI Yun and FU Hai feng is Straight Net shot, of which the most prominent feature is Balance. When confront Frontcourts, they can focus on the Near-net and at the same time take Straight Mid-court and Crosscourt Near-net into account.(2)The most striking skill on First Initiative creation of CHUNG Jae Sung and LEE Yong Dae is Straight Pushing. By this Route,which usually aim at the Mid-court,they force their opponents to Lift.(3)The most distinctive skill of Mathias BOE and Carsten MOGENSEN are Backcourt Services. There are a large number of Backcourt Service with good effort.(4)The most striking skill on First Initiative creation of Kien Keat KOO and Boon Heong TAN is Pushing, which are close to the Driving.Their Pushing can not only make their opponents to Lift,but also lead the game to a period of the fast Driving and Backstop with the great aggressivity.
