From some of the literature and some news reports online, research on taijiquan teaching in colleges and universities has been carried out a lot, most of which comes from the taijiquan, teaching content, teaching methods and means, and teaching reform and so on. But there is few reports about curriculum, basic situation of teachers and teaching outline, teaching plan, teaching material usage, taijiquan classroom learning situation and the teaching effect in the research.In order to gain a better understanding of taijiquan present teaching situation of WuHan colleges and universities, and find out the current problems existing in the taijiquan teaching in colleges and universities in wuhan, aiming at specific problems put forward countermeasures to improve the taijiquan teaching in colleges and universities in wuhan and provide theoretical basis for the development of taijiquan teaching in colleges and universities in WuHan. This paper mainly aimed to select several WuHan colleges and universities which has well comprehensive evaluation, good quality of teaching and high representativeto carry out investigation centre on the present situation of taijiquan curriculum. Through the material method, expert interview method, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics, the tai chi courses’opening status, basic situation analysis between teachers and students, curriculum, teaching effect satisfaction and so on in common colleges and universities has been carried. The conclusions are as followed:1, The taijiquan teaching focus on Freshman or Sophomore, in the form of required courses or option courses, and teaching field is most in the playground.2, Taijiquan teachers, men more than women, most teachers’education backgroud is graduate students who has higher education; Teachers’age ranged from 40 to 50 years old.;teachers’title to associate professor.3, Students learning tai chi chuan are mainly girl students’interest in tai chi level is general; Students understand taijiquan by single way, and learning tai chi students’ classroom learning situation is better.4, Tai chi classes are most concentrated between 25 to 35 people, teaching content is given priority to with 24 style taijiquan, diverse teaching method, teaching content, single teaching means.5, Most of the teachers use the teaching material, and using the textbook version of a variety of forms, and most students don’t use the teaching materials.6, Students grasp the technology of tai chi exercises normally after learning tai chi mood, emotion, spirit, learning efficiency and sleep quality has been improved significantly.On the above findings come to Wuhan after analyzing the existing problems in the process of taijiquan teaching in colleges, suggestion is put forward:1, Improve the taijiquan teaching sites, corresponding venues environment facilities, enrich the teaching contents, strengthen the cooperation between the teacher and student interaction.2, In the teaching in wushu, achievement method, theoretic teaching, deepend the students’awareness of tai chi chuan, increase publicity of tai chi chuan.3, Draw lessons from the dance teaching methods and means, students are encouraged to carry out creative and personalized the plait or adaptation; Perfect tai chi course examination method; The use of modern teaching means auxiliary teaching.4, Unified taijiquan teaching outline, teaching material, strengthen students ability to use of relevant material.5, Strengthen the excercise of the students’ physical quality, organize classroom teaching, and regard extracurricular activities as part of the teaching plan, effectively promote the combination of class inside and outside taijiquan sports activities.6、Encourage students to learn taijiquan rank in the inspection content, through goal-oriented motivation, arouse the enthusiasm of students learning, improve the students’ learning interest.
