Professional development is the major tendency of teacher vocational education andgrowth, and is the focus and direction of teacher education reform around the world. Theprofessional development of physical education teachers in primary schools is animportant part for teachers’ professionalization. With the promulgating and implementingof “the standard of physical education and health courses in compulsory education stage”in2011, it has made a favor for the pupils, including improving their physical and healthcondition, promoting the student development and training the socialist burden.Meanwhile, it put forward a higher requirements for the quality of PE teachers. Educationplans, teacher-centered, the success of any curriculum reform mainly due to teachers inthe final. Therefore, it is very important to study the status of PE teachers in primaryschools.According the actual situation of PE teachers of primary school in East LakeHigh-tech Zone, this paper firstly designed questionnaire. Secondly in strict accordancewith the policy of the Ministry of Education and the spirit of the relevant documents itmade deeply investigation for the number of East Lake High-tech Zone elementaryschool physical education teachers with age, sex ratio, teacher qualifications, incomesatisfaction, work week, job title, continuing education, research, the level of exerciselevels and other aspects. Then it analyzed the current problems. Ultimately provide atheoretical basis for the physical education reform and school physical developmentprogram.Through interviews and surveys of teachers expert analysis of the results can beseen: there are some problems, East Lake High-tech Zone elementary school physicaleducation teachers, the number of women teachers less than normal, age structureimbalance, continuing education and training after the entry is not ideal, researchcapacity than low, the larger the weekly workload, benefits are not high, sport gradelevel, the referee level is not high.Situation in the presence of East Lake High-tech Zone primary school sports teacherquestions above problems, this paper proposes:1、Increasing the number of male physical education teachers.2、School leaders to raise awareness of sports, changing concepts. 3、Increasing the treatment of physical education teachers, reduce the workload ofteachers per week.4、To improve the level of sports teachers in research.5、To improve teachers’ professional skills and sports referees capacity.6、Strengthen ideological and moral construction of physical education teachers,physical education teachers to enhance professionalism.
