In January 2012, The Ministry of Education published the ’curriculum standard for biology in compulsory education (2011)’.Under the circumstance of keeping the same framework of course,it added fifty descriptions of important concepts of ten advanced themes which should be learned by students,hignlighted the importance of transfering important concepts.According to the curriculum standard, the biology textbooks come out by People’s Education Press strengthened the transfer of important concepts. So how do important concepts distribute in the textbooks? How do these concepts deliver? How teachers teach these concepts via using the textbooks? This study will answer these total questions.After analyzing contents in the textbooks published by People’s Education Press. This research summarizes the distribution of important concepts.The study shows that textbooks express concepts via declarative sentence.And they present important concepts based on truthful materials and exploratory activities.Meanwhile,a survey was taken on biology teachers of Junior high school about their feeling on usage of the textbooks and comments of the way importante conceptes present.According to the above aspects, the author gives two suggestions about concepts’ expression and presentation.First,using sayings to improve the readability of wordage.Second, providing representative samples.Moreover, on the basis of textbooks’ features as well as students’ cognitive level, the author designs teaching activities for concepts based on cooperative learning, exploratory learning and problem-based learning.
