| Modern soccer—a fast developing, widely accepted and charming game, has become one of the most popular and influential sports activities since it was invented in the year of1863and it is named the most popular game worldwide. Europe has more teams, which are involved in each World Cup, than any other continent, and the achievement of European teams used to be much better among all the continents. As the level of every European team is close to each other, which means European championships which is held every four years, has become the most attracting and skillful matches, which could guide football game to a higher level. That is why European Cup has been called the little World Cup (withoutBrazil and Argentine). Therefore, analyzing dribbling and tackling skills of all European teams, exploring the development trend of soccer and trying to find out characteristics of dribbling and tackling skills so that we could provide a theoretical reference to football teams in all different levels in ChinaLiterature review, expert interviews, logical analysis, video observation, mathematical statistics and other methods are utilized in this paper, analyzing dribbling and tackling skills of all31games in final stage of2012European Cup. Results are as follows:(1) In this European Cup, Every team applies short distance dribbling, combining with middle-long distance ball passing and ace teams are much better in short distance ball passing, with a better, whereas, middle-long distance dribbling are prior choices in front corner, ball centering and free kick when attacking blocked by rivals., each team tried to control middle area of the pitch, therefore, the number of ball dribbling is relatively higher in middle and central field compared with other areas, and success rate of ball dribbling at the back field is the highest. If players encounter intensive defense, they tend to choose to pass the ball, which accounts for61.79%of total amount. If the attacks, especially in front and middle field, players also pass the ball sideward or backward to their teammates so that they are able to control the ball. The quantity and quality of threatening ball dribbling is the key factor for a team to defeat others. Front and middle field is the certain area where has the highest numbers of threatening ball dribbling and creates the most goals. Threatening ball dribbling includes short-distance, middle and long distance dribbling, direct dribbling and receiving and controlling dribbling techniques. Among which, middle and long distance dribbling and receiving and controlling dribbling increase the difficulty of defense, so it creates more time and space for the attacking team.(2) In this European Cup, the number of ball receiving is the highest, which demonstrates the ability of successful ball receiving is the main guarantee to organize attacking and control the game. Success ball receiving rate is relatively high in back area, whereas, rate of receiving miss is relatively high in both front and central area. If players encounter intensive defense, the number and success ball receiving rate are obviously lower then that when the defense is not stressed. Unsuitable ball receiving techniques can cause receiving miss. The success ball receiving rate is the highest when receiving the ball stationarily compared with running at low or middle speed. Running towards left or right sides before receiving the ball is the highest, which represents51.37%, compared with receiving ball stationarily and form left or right sides and back turning ball receiving.(3) The total number of ball tackling of this European Cup is2450, success rate is45.94%. Tackling techniques application and success rate of tackling are the highest. The number of ball tackling and success rate in sideways are higher than that in other area and this gap is wide. Among effective ball tackling, the percentage of tackling and passing is higher than that kicking the ball out of bound. Tackling success rate is12percentage higher with less stressed defense. Main tackling skills, which are used frequently in this Cup, include frontal and side-block.(4) Ball stealing technique, which has been utilized much less than ball tackling skill application, has been used for1578times in this Cup and the success rate accounts for63.38percentage. The number of tackling in central pitch is higher than side area, whereas, the number of ball stealing in back and middle field is higher than that in frontal area, but the difference of ball breaking success rate among those areas is not obvious. Both numbers of ball stealing and its success rate is higher in less pressing situation than that in stressed defense.Studying via purposes and results of ball breaking, passing and controlling the ball after breaking from opponents, representing73.15percent; the success rate of ball receiving after breaking it is much higher than that of the success rate of ball passing after stealing, which is the main skill of ball breaking.From the content above that I can draw some conclusions which are as follows:(1) Total number of ball passing of Chinese Male footballers is much too low while the fault rate is so high when compete with their rivals during Chinese and International matches. Therefore, some suggestion should be made to Chinese soccer coaches that endurance and strength of Chinese male football players should be trained in daily training sessions. Those training methods are able to enhance abilities of players to move longer hours and the speed of ball passing and its success rate, finally it could help these players to improve ball dribbling quantity and quality.(2)During training and matches, tactical thinking of no-ball positioning should be put into a prior position during training sessions, meanwhile, parallel pass, back-pass and long pass should also be trained in order to improve efficiency of attack.Receiving ball technique should be trained in a stressing defense way so that rationality of such skill can be strengthened. Observation consciousness and enough endurance training is able to help players adapt to offer support to their teammates repeatedly.(3) Improving strength training and ball tackling in stressing defensive situation, numbers of tackling in middle area and tackling success rate at back filed should also be upgraded. Whereas, ability to control the ball in frontal area should be improved and quick pass after tackling ought to be applied in middle and back field.(4) Whole defense tactics should be trained in daily practicing session, the purpose of which is to push attackers to transfer their attack to both wings. In frontal area, kicking the ball out of pitch is the main choice of defense while quick pass after tackling the ball form opponents has to be carried in middle and back filed. In order to suppress fast counter attacks that come form the competitor, tackling skill has to be applied in frontal area, however, receiving ball after tackling skill ought to be carried out in middle and back filed. All these tactics should be drilled intentionally during the daily training sessions. |
