Applying Of Overall Attack Tactics By Chinese Women’s Basketball Team In The2012London Olympics

In the2012London Olympics, Chinese women basketball team obtained the sixth place. Compared with the position in the2008Beijing Olympics (the fourth place), it certainly witnessed a step backwards, but the finish was the second best in the last two decades. Throughout the female basketball game in London, American women basketball, whose overall strength was far more powerful than any other team in the world, was the indisputable bellwether, which was followed by the second group consisting of Australia and some European teams. In terms of overall strength, China’s Woman was arguably in the second group. Compared with other teams in this group, however, there was still a gap-The London Olympics are now history, and Chinese women basketball’s result was respectable. But there are still a series of problems that worth introspecting and summarizing behind the fairly good finish. Without the deep introspection and summary on past success and failure, it would be hard to make new breakthroughs in the next Olympics games and other major international competitions. Based on this awareness and viewpoint, I chose the analysis and research on Chinese women basketball team’s employment of attack tactics in the2012London Olympics were chosen as the subject, dissecting and understanding their offensive tactical systems and the execution of tactics on an objective and rational level to provide some theoretical reference for their later development. Simultaneously, it is necessary to explore and do some research on the regularities and characteristics of the changes in modern basketball attack strategies, which would create new awareness and understanding of the changes and development in the world women basketball’s offensive tactics.In this thesis, the overall attack tactics that Chinese women basketball team employed in the six matches in the London Olympics are detailedly recorded and contrastively analyzed via literature method, video observation, mathematical statistics and logical analysis. According to the research, the adoption of Chinese women basketball team’s overall attack tactics would be understood fully and systematically. Based on this, a series of problems existing in Chinese women basketball team’s attack tactics, as well as the execution of that, would be penetrated. And with the comparison and analysis of the data of these six matches with foreign women basketball teams, we would find out the gap between the world women basketball powers and China Woman’s, summarizing and generalizing the root of problems in Chinese women basketball’s attack tactics, which would eventually generate a relatively comprehensive and objective understanding of Chinese women basketball team’s ability to implement and apply the attack tactics. Based on this, we present advice and suggestions on offensive tactical thoughts and training for Chinese women basketball.
