In the era of knowledge economy, the expansion of innovation in the depth and breadth grows fast. With the increase of investment and risk, team advantage in terms of knowledge integration and efficiency has become increasingly apparent. How to develop creative potential of the organization members, organizational innovation and innovation performance are closely related to the suitable environment. Work atmosphere present in the Innovation team promotes innovation ability, produces and maintains persistent innovation behaviors. Researches on the mechanism of how innovative climate impact innovation performance have long been the rise. As the university is the carrier of creative talents, innovation research team is an important indicator for one school’s overall innovation capability. AS the research is a special group in the university, To explore the mechanisms of how innovative climate impact innovation performance is an important proposition of the current management for the research teamThe study founds out how to enhance innovation performance dynamic path through literature research., as well as verifies the innovative atmosphere questionnaire, innovation performance questionnaire and shared mental model questionnaire based on previous studies. Then the study examines the quality of the data, and the results show that the scales used have good reliability and validity. And in accordance with the relevant theory, it puts out the conceptual model of how team innovative atmosphere aspects innovation performance via the shared mental model.The study verified how the university research team innovative atmosphere impact the innovation performance through a shared mental model on the basis of these studies. Vision objectives, task-oriented and innovation support has a positive effect on the innovative willingness and innovation results by task type shared mental model, innovation support and interaction frequency has a positive impact on innovative willingness and innovative behavior through collaborative shared mental model. Based on these studies, we construct the upgrade path to university research team innovation performance. The innovation of this dissertation lies it take the university research team for the study, reveals a mechanism on how a team innovation atmosphere affect innovation performance based on a shared mental model; at the same time it explores the structure of the university research team shared mental model and innovation atmosphere, and constructs methods to enhance the university research team innovation performance. As an exploratory study, there are still many limitations of this study, but the prospects are certainly good, hope this study provides strong support for further research to improve the innovation ability of Chinese Universities.
