With the development of the society, the using of English is becomingwider and wider. As a language, the ability of oral English is the mostimportant. Although the teaching method in our country is reformingunceasingly, in junior high schools students’ oral English level is far frombeing satisfactory. Cooperative learning is an effective teaching idea andstudy model adopted by many countries. The study is to explore acooperative learning method which suits with oral English teaching in ruraljunior high schools, and to provide an environment where students cancommunicate. In this way, we can improve students’ learning initiative inclass and the learning atmosphere. We can also change the situation ofstudents afraid of speaking.Through the interview with students in junior high school, I knowstudents’ learning situation, and the problems of teaching. To solve theproblems, I divided the students into groups, and make group construction.At the same time, I designed a series of oral English cooperative learningtasks. At last, the teacher and team members provided analysis andevaluation on the situation of the group completing the task. The initialresearch results show that the research method and teaching strategies in thestudy is effective. Students’ enthusiasm of learning oral English is muchhigher. At the same time, students’ cooperative ability and communicativeability are trained greatly. My teaching ability is also improved.
