Pronunciation plays an essential role in mastering the language skills. Good pronunciation will contribute to social communication. Studying English must begin with grasping the correct English pronunciation. As can be seen from the current Senior High School EFL Curriculum Standards, phonetics instruction is attached to more and more importance. Sadly, there is not enough emphasis on phonetics teaching in the English lesson. Traditional phonetics teaching has little effect on Pronunciation. Thus, numerous researchers have attempted to explore effective and practical teaching methods in order to improve the phonetics teaching for senior high students.Eighty students coming from Fuzhou NO.11middle school are divided into two groups. They are the experimental group and the control group. Firstly, two groups took part in the pretest, and the result of it showed that these two groups had the equivalent phonetic competence. After the pretest, the experimental group received phonetics training and students’ autonomic training through Intelligent Repeating, while the control group only received the phonetics training without any training from Intelligent Repeating. After3months, two groups took part in the posttest, the data of which shows that the experimental group outperformed greatly than the control group. Majority of students in the experimental group hold the highly positive attitude towards Intelligent Repeating and received the phonetics training.The result of the study showed that Automatic Speech Recognition technology-based Intelligent Repeating is an effective approach to improve the senior high students’ pronunciation proficiency. According to the current phonetics teaching situation, Chinese senior high schools should integrate the Automatic Speech Recognition technology-based Intelligent Repeating into traditional English classroom teaching in order to enhance students’ pronunciation skills.
