Trust is not only the important factor of individual relationship and individual socialadaptability, but also the moral foundation of the development of modern society.Social trust mentality can reflect some certain social values, social evaluation andsocial expectation from psychological levels. In the driven of theory discussion andpractical needs of solving problem, our scholars have expanded extensive researcharound the theme of social trust. At the same time,lack of social trust and the twistedsocial trust mentality have made us realize that social trust is not only a kind ofprecious asset, but scarce social resources. How to look at the issue of social trust, howto remodel people’s healthy social trust mentality have become a hot topic of research.College students are the main force of future social development,,who also make anextremely important role in building the socialist harmonious society. However,today’s social environment affects college student;s’ deeply, where the crisis of socialtrust has gradually expanded and spread, so, getting to know the characteristics ofcollege students’ social trust mentality and guiding the healthy development of theirsocial trust mentality will be significant for themselves and harmonious developmentof the whole society.The paper persists in the basic stance and methods of Marxist philosophy, usesresearch results of sociology, ethics, political science and psychology,etc, and makes acomprehensive discussion of college students’ social trust mentality in the horizon ofvalue identity. Social trust is not only a kind of attitude, but also a kind ofpsychological value. Also, social trust mentality stems from values, and expressesvalues which are the core of mentality. College students’ trust and belonging to socialindividuals or organizations depends on the values, which are universal rather thanindividual. Socialist core value is the mainstream of social values in our country, whichis also the kernel of the system of socialist core values. It reflects the radical nature andbasic characteristics of the system of socialist core values. According to the spirit ofthe18thnational congress and the third plenary session of the18thnational congress ofthe communist party of China, all Chinese people should cultivate and practice thesocialist core value actively. As a result, college students’ identity and internalizationto socialist core values are the kernel of guiding the healthy development of theirsocial trust mentality. The essay makes the social trust mentality as a whole to study, also makes a discussion of how to guide the healthy development of college students’social trust mentality. First of all, the essay teases basic concepts of the topic, using themethods of literature study and questionnaire survey to analyze the present situationand manifestation of college students’ social trust mentality from four dimensionalities,which are interpersonal trust between individuals, trust in the governing party’s rulingability, responsible trust to market economic entities and trust in mass mediainformation. Secondly, to dissect the present situations of college students’ social trustmentality from two aspects of internal cause and external cause. Finally, according tosome aspects to find how to correct college students’ undesirable social trust mentalityand effective methods to guide the healthy development of their social trustmentality,which includes guiding college students to establish correct value standard,helping them internalize socialist core value in many diversified forms, furtherimproving the management level of the government to settle social basis for thehealthy improvement of college students’ social trust mentality, at the same time, tocreate a good cultural environment to help students develop their capability ofself-education.
