It has been presented the great trend of integration among the56ethnic groups inour country, while the intermarriage of ethnic groups among the vast majority hasbecome very common. Some ethnic intermarriage even surpassed the number of themarriage within the community,in which the marriage between minorities and Hanaccounted for more than90%to the total number of national intermarriage. The fourmain nations——Mongolian, Manchu, Han and Hui have get along together in Hohhotfor a long time,where the rate of intermarriage between Han and other ethnics run high,at the same time,the high rate of cross-race-intermarriage between Mongolian andManchu not only confirm Fei Xiaotong’s theory of unity of pluralistic society of Chinesenation,but also demonstrate the harmonious relationship among local minorities. Wehave reasons to predict, under the social background of further developing economic,national relationship integration and more flexibility of population migration and flow,the cross-race-intermarriage will be more common among various nations.The essay seted the View of intermarriage between Mongolian and Manchu onSaihan district in Hohhot as the research object, which Mainly adopting participantobservation, semi-structured interview, questionnaires and data analysis, discussingthe related concepts of intermarriage behavior between Mongolian and Manchu ofEthnic minority youth and their relevant groups under the new period.Stemmed fromHohhot situation, historical evolution to ethnic composition,the study illustrated thepossibility and feasibility of intermarriage between Mongolian and Manchu;summarized the characteristic of the volume and proportion of intermarriage betweenMongolian and Manchu.According to "Ethnic characteristics","Historical relationship features"and"two characteristics family coexistence" of Marong’s theoretical model formain factors affected cross-national marriage,the study analyzed the social factors tointermarriage between Mongolian and Manchu in Hohhot,which also supplemented bythe relative size of the local population. The study designed the items of family,education level, view of marriage, the attitude and feelings to the intermarriagebehavior between Mongolian and Manchu to investigate the individual characteristicsin social psychology.Founded in deep interview, and field study, there is a particular phenomenon inthe intermarriage between Mongolian and Manchu in the contemporary Hohhot. It is acertain degree of preference to the areas of the others’ original family when Mongolianand Manchu youth from different original areas choosing spouse. We named thisphenomenon as” original family regional preference of cross-national spouse” throughgrounded theory, which has been regarded as Empirical hypothesis and designed.Wehave obtained some tentative hypothesis needed further research and argumentation.Besides, the essay finally pointed that how to conserve the essence part of the riched,perfected and assimilated ethnic minority culture, how to build and flourish the Manchuculture In the process of developing Mongolian culture, they are all issues to beconsidered to relevant institutions in the economical social development.
