Discussing The Development Drends Of Cheerleading According To The Rules’ Changes During The Ten Years Of The Competition Rules

Cheerleading movement originated from the United States, it is a kind of social and cultural activities for cheer, with music accompaniment, appears as a team, and has strong appeal, difficult, artistic, novel, and unique. So it is also a physical exercise, youthful, sunny, lively, and fashionable. When cheerleading competes, it is usually use the Cheerleading Competition rules as the important reference. The Cheerleading Competition Rules standardized the evaluation method of the referee, and it is also the key to plait of entire exercises for the coach and athlete, guiding the development of the cheerleading.The first edition of the Cheerleading Competition Rules issued in 2001 in China, and there are totally five editions by 2014. The change of Cheerleading Competition Rules guiding the development direction of cheerleading. This paper mainly do the comparative study of the Cheerleading Competition Rules for the edition of 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014 with the research methods of documentary, expert interview, logical analysis and induction etc, including the change of the overall framework, the project types, difficulty movement requirement in the methods of scoring. And it is also discuss the development trends of cheerleading according to the rules’ changes during the ten years of the Cheerleading Competition Rules.The result reveals that:(1) Cheerleading Competition Rules has more diverse types of projects, wider range of contestants and more pervasive.(2)Increased competitive venue improved the safety coefficient, time limit and deduction point requirements for entire exercise tend to rationalize. Chinese characteristics projects have lower demands for the clothes and props while international projects have higher demands.(3)2014 edition of the Cheerleading Competition Rules in China canceled the grouped score for choreography, completion, difficulty movement etc to holistic score for entire exercise.(4)Great changes have taken place to the requirement of entire exercise referenced international scoring rules.(5) The holistic score of entire exercise in the evaluation method make the umpire canceled the grouping, the umpire judge from “quantitative” to “qualitative”, from the “part” to the “whole”, which increase the difficulty to score, more challenges have been brought to umpire.
