The purpose is to explore the correlation between the quality of interest center activities and child developmental outcomes by using the fifth sub-scale of Chinese Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (trial version) and child Development Scale of China (age 3 to 6), in order to improve the quality of interest center activities and child development.Measurement and statistical analysis were used in this research.88 preschool samples in 6 cities of Zhejiang province,163 samples of classes samples and 933 samples of children development level from those preschools were extracted by stratifies random sampling. Sample data collated summary, using different statistical analysis of the data for further analysis. Use descriptive statistics to analyze the quality of the interest center activities; using correlation analysis, partial correlation analysis to analyze the correlation between the different dimensions of interest center activities and child development; the use of regression analysis to explore the interest center activities and other affected children predictive factor in the development of child development; using analysis of variance, regression analysis to explore the amount of interest center time. The research results show that:1. The quality of interest center is generally not high; relatively, the design of interest center is better than the implement of interest center activities. Compared with two sub items of materials and space and opportunities and time, the mean of activity design and guidance is the highest. Compared with the arts interest center and the creative interest center, the mean of learning interest center is the highest.2. The quality of interest center on child developmental results have significant effects of weak prediction. There is significant correlation between the quality of interest center activity except fine motor. There are significant correlation found between the opportunities and time of interest center activities and child developmental outcomes with child age and parent education level controlled compared with two sub items of materials and space and activity design. Also, there is significant correlation between arts interest center activity and child developmental outcomes compared with two types of creative and learning interest center activity. The results of the regression analysis further show that, with child age and parent education level controlled, activity design and guidance, arts interest center have significant prediction on language development; materials and space, opportunities and time have significant prediction on early mathematical development; materials and space predictor of social cognitive; the learning interest center have significant prediction on social cognitive, early mathematical and social development. But the prediction effects are weak. Compared with the whole-group instruction, the prediction of interest center is weaker.3. Different opportunities and times of interest center have different influence on child development. Three times per week had a more favorable impact on child development in this study.Based on the limitations of this study and look forward to in the future be able to obtain more efficient data to conduct more in-depth analysis.
