Along with the development of social industrialization and the problem of growing aging population, the range of people’s demands for nursing service keeps expanding and their requirement for the quality of nursing service are becoming higher. However, the traditional nursing education ignored the cultivation of comprehensive ability and test-oriented ability, plus the expanding enrollment for nursing and patients’enhanced consciousness of rights protection, students’chance to practice become less and less. In order to guarantee the quality of talents specialized in nursing, the method of simulation teaching has been gradually introduced into the nursing teaching process. This study will apply situation simulation teaching method in the teaching process of medical nursing which combines theory and practice altogether. The purpose of this study is to develop students’ critical thinking ability, improve these nursing majors’test-oriented ability, bridge the gap between theory and clinical practice, make students pass the nurse qualification examination successfully, so as to get a job and adapt to the clinical work after graduation, and apply all theoretical knowledge they have learnt in the process of the real clinical practice. This study is a random control experimental research conducted among students who were enrolled in 2013 and study a three-year vocational nursing program in Nanchang Health School. Two small classes are chosen randomly from eight small classes as research subjects, one of which is labeled as the experimental group(n=59) while the other is the control group(n=63). By using the before-and-after control study, students in the experimental group and the control group are tested before and after the experiment respectively. At last, a statistic analysis is conducted on the data to compare the differences of critical thinking ability before and after the experiment between the experimental group and the control group so as to evaluate the effect that the situation simulation teaching method have on the test-oriented ability. Through grading the scores of these vocational nursing majors and investigate the current status of their critical thinking ability, the result shows that the level of the nursing secondary specialized school students’test-oriented ability and their critical thinking ability is quite low and fail to reach the positive critical thinking attitude. They are weak in seeking for truth, opening mind, systematized ability and cognitive maturity but have a strong desire to learn knowledge. By making use of their thirst for knowledge, the students can be guided to develop their critical thinking ability and further improve their test-oriented ability. After a three-month random control experimental research, conclusions are made as follows. Firstly, through comparing the total score of critical thinking and scores of each dimension before and after the intervention in the experimental group, the results show that every score greatly increase with different degrees. The differences have statistical significance(P<0.01). Scores of the control group don’t change obviously before and after intervention, so the differences have no statistical significance(P> 0.05). Secondly, Although situation simulation teaching method is a very good approach to improve nursing majors’ test-oriented ability in both theory and practice, there are still some deficiencies, Aiming at these problems put forward the countermeasures and suggestions of simulation teaching method improving nursing majors’ test-oriented ability...
