Cultural ecology refers to the ecological conditions of cultural existence, cultural heritage and cultural development. It is a combined process in a specific cultural environment between culture and cultural subjectivity (cultural learners). Language is the most important medium of cultural communication; education is the main intermediary cultural transmission and development. So. English education plays an important role in the maintenance of today’s cultural ecology. Meanwhile, the "ordinary high school English curriculum standards" in 2013 issued by the Ministry of Education (experimental) said:"cultural awareness" Target is one of the five goals of English courses. As to the outlook, values being formed in high school English courses offered in high school, which needs to play their maintenance, inheritance, development and cultural function. Therefore, from the perspective of cultural ecology, taking into consideration the current status quo of teaching high school English culture, problems, analyze the causes and try to put out appropriate policies, which is extremely necessary.In this paper, the author has investigated the status of cultural teaching in senior high school by using literature method, interview method, and questionnaire method, hoping to find out the existing problems of English cultural teaching in high school which will be analyzed by eco-cultural perspective. Survey results show that the understanding degree of cultural objectives; high school English textbooks culture. cultural teaching methods, teachers themselves are present ecological imbalance. In view of this, the author proposes four recommendations:from the level of cultural awareness, cultural awareness should be enhanced and the objectives of cultural awareness ought to be cleared; from the cultural content level:The content of culture teaching in high school has to be enlarged; from the cultural teaching approaches:To explore the teaching strategies of English culture; From the aspects of ecological awareness:Teachers’cultural ecology freedom might be achieved.The full text is divided into six parts. The first part is an introduction. This section describes the origin, the purpose and significance of the study. The second part are domestic and foreign research literature; the theoretical basis of this paper are the third part, from the cultural ecology, the relationship between cultural and linguistic, cultural ecology and culture teaching in three aspects are explained, to further clarify the scope of this study; Part Ⅳ:Situation of English cultural survey. Through interviews with teachers and students, students’questionnaires and interviews with today’s English cultural teaching in senior school. Which aims to analyze the problems of cultural teaching, and reflect on the reasons; the fifth part is based on the existing problem.the author puts forward some recommendations through eco-cultural perspective. Section 6 is the reflection of the paper. This part of this research is the summary and analysis of deficiencies found in this study, and further research is prospected.
