Personal And Family Adaptation Of Single Women

The marriage problem of single woman in city has caused the social extensive concern. Single woman is a double deviant:on one hand, Single woman is in her marriage age. The fact that she fails to get married is a violation of social norms. One the other hand, the most important social roles of a woman is mother and wife. Single woman fails to get these roles.As a result, Single woman has suffered a series of personal and familial stress, In this research, ABC-X model of family stress is used to analyze the relation among stressor events, existing resources, perception of stressor events, and the crisis.In China, There is still few research of single woman’s stress. This article reviews the research based on single woman, and summarize the main characteristic of single woman in city. This article is a qualitative research doing in-depth interviews with ten single women and their family members, and using ABC-X model to analyze the Personal and Family Adaptation of Single Women.
