Self-learning ability plays a very important role in modern society. The teachers need to lead the students to try self-learning and the students will fall in love wih this kind of learning style twhen they make some progress. But the teachers are trying to explore how to make the students to learn autonomously, from the time and space to guarantee the need of autonomous learning. However, in our teaching among teachers focus is to impart knowledge, but lack the necessary guidance to the student’s learning ability, poor self-learning ability of students.During our teaching progress, the teachers do their best to pass knowledge to students, but lack the necessary guidance for the students’ learning ability, which results in our students have poor self-learning ability. And our teachers are not effective to guide students in active learning strategy to deal with this situation.With a responsible attitude, this paper research center is on the high pupils of self-directed learning, including its present stage of autonomous learning and how to guide its better autonomous learning. Through rigorous research, in-depth analysis of related phenomena, and make strict summary, finally provide reasonable guidance strategy for the high year pupils better autonomous learning. This research has compiled the questionnaire for the investigation of the status quo of the students’ autonomous learning in the high- age students, and investigated the 300 students in five schools in a district of Dalian.Higher grades of students’ self learning situation according to the results of the survey: 1 of students’ autonomous learning awareness is not strong; 2 of students’ autonomous learning objectives is not clear; 3 of students’ autonomous learning the content of a single; 4 of students’ autonomous learning methods lack appropriate; 5 of students’ autonomous learning time is not fixed; 6 of students’ autonomous learning effect needs to be strengthened.Through the survery of high-grade pupils’ self study we found the following results: First, the importance of self-learning ability of the students has been applied to practice. Second, although most teachers want to give some advice and guidance to pupils on self learning, but the ability of teachers themselves often remains not enough, their guidance for the students sometimes not analyzing specific issues, sometimes easily giving up halfway. Third, although some school teachers have made guides for students, but a considerable number of students’ satisfaction with the results of the guidance is not satisfiec, the number of such students reaching nearly one-third of those surveyed.The purpose of this thesis is to provide the corresponding improvement countermeasures for high year pupils of autonomous learning, to help them improve their independent learning skills, so in the analysis of the specific situation at the same time, this paper targeted gives comments and questions and corresponding solutions, to help the high year pupils improve skills and methods autonomous learning, also hope that the relevant officials to pay more attention to the problem.
