Junior school students are in youth development period. They have rapid development in physical and psychological aspect and change a lot at this stage. Rebellious behavior is common and the typical behavior of the group during this period. The topic of this paper is through the systemic research of the rebellious behavior in junior school students with the face saving theory, mainly analyzing the reasons and logic for junior school students’ rebellious behaviors in school. This paper takes Junior school students as the main research object, whose ages are between 12 and 15. The paper use the documents, in-depth interviews and participant observation to collect information and data. Then find that, four types of rebellious behavior in Junior school students are initiative and passive rebellious behavior, hidden and visible rebellious behavior. Overall, this group of students in the school suffers from positive and negative face threats, the former refers to the junior school students’ public image to purse independence often suppressed by teachers, school leaders and campus specification and rules. The latter refers to the students in school can’t get the teacher’s affirmation and praise. Specifically, the reasons for rebellious behaviors show when Junior school students facing face-losing, in defense of the face and face-giving. Through the complicated rebellious behavior on the front stage, we can explore the students’ real demands on the back stage. Rebellious behavior belongs to a way of face work. The academic failure and face threats make them take the rebellious behavior which is instinctive and skilled to disguise the failure for them. The rebellion has become the basis value elements of their friends, but this network is temporary and fragile, they clear the present state of chaos, but have a clear plan for the future, so as to develop a distinctive view of the teacher and campus. In reverse with the teachers, we can see a very strong vitality, extraordinary courage and subject consciousness from the students. The students take the rebellious behavior as face work when face threats happen, in fact is seeking for their own identity and self-realization, which behind is the power of growth.The findings inspire us the teacher should have a sense of service to take the students as the center and provide good services for the students. Secondly we should make full use of the positive function of face and manage student’s daily behavior in order to promote the benign development of the relationship between teachers and students. Finally the teacher should focus on the demand and meaning behind students’ rebellious behavior and recognize that it’s a way for the junior school students to express themselves, what behind is the power of growth.
