Junior high school geography curriculum is based on the physiological and psychological development level of students, which is closely related to life, basic knowledge, basic skills and attitude are useful in life-long development of students. For junior middle school students, learning motivation and purpose are not clear, interest is one of the most important driving force. The current situation, because the junior middle school geography not to take part in the exam, and traditional teaching methods are hard to arouse students’ interest in learning, when students are in Grade 8, they still lack of interest in geography learning.So it is necessary for teachers to change teaching methods, broaden the geography curriculum resources, only in this way, can students like geography, and throw into learning well.This dissertation from the perspective of literature geography, and puts forward the application of poetry proverbs in junior high school geography teaching, introduce the poetry proverbs in the field of geography, broaden the junior middle school geography education resources, and enriches the research of junior high school geography teaching in basic education aspects, to promote the teacher’s own development; At the same time, analyzes and summarizes the basic situation of the current junior middle school students, is advantageous to mutual coordination between the junior high school geography curriculum and the geography teachers, promote the development of junior middle school geography education, makes the junior high school geography classroom more popular with the students.After reading the relative references about the application of poetry proverbs in geography teaching, basing on the existing research results, the author summed up some related theoretical basis in junior high school geography teaching, and summarized the current research status at home and abroad on this topic, the shortages of the present study. After that, research background, research ideas and research framework of this thesis are determined. Combining with the teaching experiment, questionnaire survey and interviews, through data collection, analysis, concluded that the effect in poetry proverbs used in junior middle school geography teaching, and summarizes the corresponding poetry proverbs in junior high school geography teaching strategies and Suggestions. At the end of the article summarizes the conclusion of the paper, the possible innovation points and the shortcomings in the process of research.
