The minorities living in the prairie created a brilliant history. Half a century ago, nomads on the grasslands live by water、 grass and pastoral life, They believe in "longevity", and believe that all off the assets and supplies is a gift from god, therefore, the nomadic way of life and the mode of production is also fully rely on nature. But the strike on the nomadic life by natural disasters is completely destroyed.In the era of progress lead to the phenomenon that nomadic to settled way of life is must be happen. There is a behavior that destruction of grasslands is appeared during the process of nomadic to settled way of life, it should be take high attention by humans. The important premise of the nomads settled in the future, is protecting prairie ecological environment, and try our best to search a way to harmonious sustainable development between settled and environment. The nomadic way of life has a deep imprint in the nomadic culture. This paper takes the national life style disappearing as the subject, and hope that can remain in people’s impression of civilization.This paper mainly carries on the analysis to the phenomenon of settlement, related to the introduction of the origin, development, characteristics and so on; I want to find the associated theoretical support on the phenomenon that nomadic turned to settle. This paper taking the Xilinhot city as an example, want to understand the basic situation and find the reason of transformation that the nomadic to settle down from the next four aspects of ecological resources, economic interests, social structure and national culture; analysis of actual case in order to take some advice what about construction the place of settled on the planning level.
