Structure Analysis Of Knowledge Network Of International Researches On Intellectual Disability

There has been an increasing prevalence in intellectual disability(ID) children in recent years, which arouses high attention of ID researchers, and relative literatures are growing rapidly. This delighted situation, on one hand, offers a great deal of available research for people who work on ID, on the other hand, it brings difficulties and puzzle when people utilize and analyze them. The development of biblio-metrics and information visualization provides an objective and scientific method for scholars to analyze them, which is widely used in informatics、management science、medical science and some other fields. With the development of computer information、 diversification of statistic methods、multifunction of visual software, biblio-metrics is being applied into kinds of research fields.Based on biblio-metrics methods such as frequency analysis of words、citation analysis、co-citation analysis, by virtue of CiteSpace、Bibexcel and Ucinet, this paper conducts structural analysis of knowledge network on data downloaded from five core journals of intellectual disability in Web of Science. It maps document of knowledge carrier network and knowledge ontology network, reveals the research topic and fronts of international research of ID, hoping to provide reference and foundation for our country.Main conclusions of this study are as follows:1) ID research is in fast development period of literature’s life cycle by mathematical model fitting; 2) The countries which publish more literatures are American、England and Australia etc., and they are mainly located in Europe and American Continent, moreover, cooperation between countries is lower; 3) Univ Illinois and Louisiana State Univ etc. have a high literature output, which half are devoted by American universities. International cooperation of institution is lower, which only develop some academic communitues; 4) Matson JL、Emerson E and Aman MG etc. are influential authors, Faber B、Grossman HJ and Baer DM etc. are front authors who have a increased being cited; 5) 《AM JMENT RETARD》 and 《J INTELL DISABIL RES》 etc. are highly cited journals in ID research fields; 6) From prospect of content analysis, we conclude four research focuses and three front tendencies by drawing co-citation and co-keyword knowledge mapping. From the perspective of keywords frequency, Research focus can be divided into four categories,meaning group study、subgroup and complications study、emotion and behavior study、intervention and support study. Research fronts can be divided into three categories, meaning gradually weak fronts、the mounting fronts、the latest fronts. Vineland adaptation behavior scale、care utilization、prescription drug use、 parents’ adaptation and support are gradually weak fronts; Health and health care access、injures and risk factors are the mounting fronts; health ageing、definition of intellectual disability、rights of persons with disabilities、the quality of life are the latest fronts.
