| With the rapid development of our society, lifelong learning, in which reading is an essential component, is the current trend. Thus, scholars begin to focus on reading literacy study for assisting people in acquiring a more effective way of reading. Drawing on research results related to reading literacy, the analysis of reading literacy in the present research is focused on the text-based test items in NMET. Reading Literacy is supposed to be affected by a lot of factors, among which reading engagement and language learning strategy are assumed to be the most significant factors. Inasmuch, this article takes the relationship among reading literacy, reading engagement and language learning strategy as the subject to investigate the influences of reading engagement and language learning strategy on assessing reading literacy in test-based test items in NMET.First of all, the relevant research literature and theories concerning reading literacy and text-based test items are reviewed and censored. Secondly, some students from the Affiliated High School of Fujian Normal University were invited as research objects to take part in the research, based on which the relationship among reading engagement, language learning strategy and reading literacy is investigated. The results indicate that reading literacy in text-based items in NMET is significantly influenced by reading engagement and language learning strategies. At the end of this paper, based on the above-mentioned conclusion, some practical and effective suggestions are put forward on English teaching methods about reading literacy of text-based item in English.The present research is intended to offer reference for further research into reading literacy, and to benefit the evaluation of reading literacy in text-based test items in English teaching in High Schools. |
