As the basic physical form of mathematics curriculum concept and the most important content of mathematics curriculum, mathematics textbooks play a role that the other teaching resources can not be replaced in daily teaching. In recent years,the international comparison of mathematics education make a great contribution to the development of mathematical textbooks.With the in-depth evaluation of TIMSS and PISA in the international study of mathematics textbooks,the domestic and foreign research in mathematics textbooks are increasing.As a world of economic power, the education of American always attaches great importance to the international mathematical education reform.Although the students’ mathematics achievement of American are lower than students’ in some countries of Asia, the mathematics education reform in the US had a great impact on the international mathematics education several times.This study selected China and the US primary mathematics textbook —— "PEP" and "My Math" on the "graphics and geometry" of the curriculum content comparative study. Using the comparative method, literature method, content analysis method, starting from the mathematics curriculum standard, grasp the similarities and differences of the "graphics and geometry" field from the macro level; secondly to the medium level, two editions of the textbook’s writing style in particular about "graphics and geometry" in style of writing and comprehensive analysis system,to find their similarities and differences in writing style; finally,focus on the micro level, two editions of the textbook "graphics and geometry" content using the curriculum difficulty models to depict the curriculum difficulty of the two edition mathematics textbooks. The conclusions of the study are as follows:1. in the first stage, our curriculum is more focused on the graphic study, American curriculum pays more attention to the training of students of the concept of space; in the second stage, China’s curriculum focuses on training of basic knowledge and basic skills of the geometry curriculum, American curriculum takes more attention on the cultivation of students’ ability, and emphasizes students’ practical operation.2. in the textbook, the two versions of the "spiral" arrangement, from the shallow to the deep, from the concrete to the abstract, step by step, from the outside to the inside, and gradually increase the depth and breadth of knowledge.3. in the first period of primary school, the characteristics of textbook "graphics and geometry" PEP is curriculum contains knowledge breadth is moderate, but the difficulty of the course content is not high. In the second stage, the characteristics of textbook is the course includes knowledge breadth is not high, but the depth of curriculum content. In summary, the PEP textbooks "graphics and geometry" the breadth of content is small, the contents includes not much, but the content is difficult.
