Feedback to student’s answer means teacher’s evaluation and reflection on the students’ answers in class, which is an integral but ignored part of classroom teaching.However,intelligent feedback can fully arouse the students’ interest and enthusiasm in learning,deepen students’ understanding of the issues,as well as guide the student to deeper thinking and exploration.Feedback to student’s answer skill is also a kind of teaching wisdom that teachers should learn.These factors contribute to my comparative research on class feedback between novice and expert teacher in mathematics in the elementary schools.The purpose of the research is to find out the potential reasons of the feedback gap between novice and expert teacher,and put forward some referable suggestions in classroom feedback in future.Comprehensively using documents analysis,classroom observation and questionnaire survey,works have done as follows:(1)Summarizes research results on comparative of novice and expert teachers,analysis the conclusions of researches on feedback to student’s answer,(2)According to the relevant researches on teacher’s feedback to student’s answer,develop a observation table about teacher’s feedback,(3)Conduct interviews and questionnaires to students and teachers,(4)According to observation table,observe the novice and expert teachers’ teaching,and comparative analyse their feedback to student’s answer.Through the classroom observation and teachers’ interviews,the feedback gap between novice and expert teacher due to:(1)Lack of novice teachers’ understanding of the feedback essences,(2)Lack of novice teachers’ understanding of mathematics learning essences,(3)Lack of novice teachers’ language skills of mathematics teaching,(4)High degree of preset and control of instructional design,(5)Novice teachers’ reflection lack of targeted,(6)Lack of novice teachers’ learning awareness and opportunity.Based on the above findings and analysis,make recommendations to improve the novice teachers’ feedback as follows:Mathematics teachers should strengthen their self-development,change their teaching idea,strengthen reflection and learning, improve their skills of mathematics teaching; schools should support teachers’ professional development, build more platforms for novice teachers to promote their collective learning and practice.
