The Study Of The Techniques And Tactics Used By Chinesewomen’s Volleyball Team In The 2014 World Championships

After 16 years, Chinese women’s volleyball team finished second again with a 10-3 record in 2014 World Women’s Volleyball Championships. Though Chinese team got a remarkable result in the game, many problems still exist in the team. The paper, by analyzing the video of Chinese women’s volleyball team’s games in 2014 World Championships, statistically analyzes the techniques and tactics in the games, by means of the data-analyzing system in the volleyball games. This paper focuses on how the techniques and tactics was applied and concludes the Chinese team’s advantages and shortcomings compared with other teams as well as the the characteristics of Chinese team’s techniques and tactics in the games, therefore provides the theoretical foundation for Chinese team’s training in the future. The findings list as follows:1. Chinese team mainly chooses jumping float service that is characterized with stable and aggressive.2. The three-player formation that consists of the main attack, the free player and the supporting player are often used by Chinese team, and the in-place rate is higher than America and other teams, the same as Brazil.3. Although Chinese team shares a similar level of blocking scoring, there exists a large difference from Brazil when it comes to the fault of blocking.4. There is large gap between Chinese team and Brazil in defensive techniques, especially in the low play ball rate and high fault rate.5. The storm is one of the mostly used tactics by Chinese team, whose spike dead ball rate is lower than that of the opponent. The inefficient strength of the storm and lack of teamwork are still the problems of Chinese team. Besides, Chinese team uses more breaks than the opponent, of which the back flight and short, flat and quick attack are used most frequently. In comparison with Brazil and America, the team’s quickness and flexibility are not apparently shown, they apply a break tactics of covering in the center and creating room for both sides. Chinese team uses more tridimensional attack then foreign teams, and the spike dead ball rate is higher than the opponent, which means the tridimensional attack, as Chinese team’s effective scoring method, has been applied more and obtained telling effect.
