Women’s doubles has always been very important in badminton competition and our national team has reached leading level in the world in this project. Since the techniques and tactics of badminton was improved and innovated at recent years, the requirements in all aspects for the two players in women’s doubles has been raised. If we want to maintain the superiority in this project and don’t fall behind in its development, the athletes to practice this project in our country must improve their abilities and overcome some shortcomings. In this thesis, the techniques and tactics application of a few excellent athletes in women’s doubles of badminton in the world at the present stage is considered as the research object, and the competition videos of 4 groups of outstanding women’s doubles players, from China, Denmark and Japan respectively, are considered as research sample. Some conclusions are obtained by data statistics and analysis according to their recent competition videos. These will be the basis for the development of women’s doubles in China and draw lessons from it. Moreover, these are also references for the daily training of juvenile badminton players and the amateur competition of badminton enthusiasts in China. The techniques and tactics application of 4 groups of outstanding women’s doubles players are divided into three parts to complete data analysis and statistics by quantifying the competition video data. The three parts include: the first three shots, the offensive and defensive stalemate, and the final scorings stage. According to these statistics and analysis, it can be concluded that the current characteristics of the women’s doubles in badminton competition, as follow: at the stage of the first three shots, most of the serves are near-net and the placements are usually at position one. This is because the serves of this kind has the shortest flight distance and the opponent’s reaction time is reduced that the offensive is limited. The ways to receive the serves are always near-net chopping or backward pushing. The attack of receiving service is emphasized for the initiative in the competition. The third shots for convergence are also smash, drop shot and other offensive ways. Thus, the opportunity to offensive is increasingly fierce contested at the stage of the first three shots and these will be the development trend of the women’s doubles. At the stage of offensive and defensive stalemate, the players in offensive side mostly use tactics of “ before and after the attack seal ”. One player chops or smash at the net while another player vigorously smash or fast split hanging at the baseline. The tactics of repeating lofty balls to limit opponents is relatively rare, while which is very common in the past competition. The players in defensive side mostly get the opportunity to counterattack by driving. This is also not the same as the tactics in the past competition, which always return lofty balls to two corners of the baseline. It can be concluded again that more offensive has become the basic development direction of the women’s doubles. At the final scorings stage, the physical condition and technical characteristics of the athletes determine their way to score. For example, Tian Qin and Zhao Yunlei have a strong defensive ability, so they always score by a quick counterattack opportunity after a period of steady defense; Yu Yang and Wang Xiaoli are better at attacking, so they always score directly by vigorously smash and fast net shot.In total, from the perspective of competition process, the requirements in the quality and stability of serving and receiving has been raised in women’s doubles competition; from the perspective of technical characteristics, the requirements in the speed of moving and power of smash of the athletes has been raised in women’s doubles competition; from the perspective of tactical level, the requirements in coordination and labor division between two players has been raised in women’s doubles competition. In other word, women’s doubles in the world have shown a clear trend in the development of masculine style.
