Study On The Negative Impact And Countermeasures Of Present Historical Nihilism Ideological Trend To College Students

Along with the deepens of our country’s reform and open policy as well as the changes of both international and domestic situations, the thoughts and culture areas are increasingly active, and the western ideas have intensified penetrating in our ideology. At present, based on the philosophy of idealism history, historical nihilism thought in our country is a kind of social political and cultural ideological trend which adapts to the need of peaceful evolution strategy.Contrary to historical research principles of seeking truth from facts and the comprehensive and objective historical research methods, historical nihilism denies the law of historical development, distorts the history of modern Chinese revolution, the history of communist party and even the history of socialist modernization in the name of the academic innovation. It is a reflection of the attitude towards not only the historical problem, but reality. Historical nihilists delivered a series of comments on major issues such as the properties and significance of the Chinese revolution, the selection of the socialism, socialism practice and merits of the leader, which had negative effect on social public opinions, the crowd psychology, especially the young people. Some college students can not correctly treat the modern Chinese historical people and events, which has not only interfered with their understanding of the historical problems, eliminated their patriotic sentiment and identification of Chinese socialism, but also has influenced their study and life. Therefore, how to eliminate such influence to help college students set up a correct outlook on world, life and values has become a problem the university need to solve urgently.This thesis, starting from the meaning of historical nihilism, sorted the academic research results on historical nihilism and absorbed their research methods and models to carry out the research on the impact and countermeasures of historical nihilism ideological trend to college students. This thesis consists of four parts:The first part overviewed the historical nihilism thought including its meaning, main points and features. Taking idealism history as its philosophical basis, historical nihilism, negated historical materialism and the historical determinism, exaggerated the selectivity of the main subjects’ behavior in the process of historical development. Today, historical nihilism lessened and negated revolution, denied all the construction practice and achievements of new China, opposed leaders and representatives of the communist party often in the face of academic researches, which reflected its metaphysical way of thinking. This part also analyzed its evolution in China.The second part was the analysis about the impact of historical nihilism ideological trend to college students. In this section, this thesis started from the survey about the influence of the historical nihilism ideological trend on the students of a college in Hebei province, then made a preliminary analysis of the current situation and the ways. Survey data indicated that historical nihilism ideological trend had influence on college students’ scientific conception of history, political beliefs, values and cultural confidence in different degrees. By its shocks,part of the college students excessively believed nihilistic history, hence, they could not correctly sum up historical experiences and lessons; their belief would be easily shaken and their political identification decreased. Besides, the false historical perspective not only weakened college students’ identification of national culture, but made them face a lot of confusion both in their study and life. All the above would eventually lead them to the lost of outlook on values and life.The third part mainly analyzed the ways as well as the causes of the negative influences. Our country is in transition period at present, in which both domestic and foreign environment are complicated, and the western ideas have intensified penetrating in our ideology. The survey showed that part of the colleges didn’t attach great importance to ideological and political theory education, in addition to the rigid teaching contents, some teachers ignored the educational function of the courses and could not answer students’ doubts and confusions which resulted in that students’ learning attitude was not positive. Because the college students lacked social practice, their minds were not mature enough to perceive history rationally which provided the chances of penetration in colleges for historical nihilism.The fourth part focused on the countermeasures from three perspectives. From perspective of social environment, a good environment should be created for college students by supervising the mass media and enhancing the construction of campus culture. From perspective of ideological and political theory courses, teaching models should be innovative, teachers’ quality and ability should be improved, and the colleges should guarantee the full participation. From perspective of students’ socialist ideal and faith, historical materialism education, national history education and social practice should be strengthened to provide the abilities for the students to understand the historical nihilism, enhance social responsibility.
