Purpose:Functional level is the important factor to the life quality of older adults. only in keeping well function, can older people live independently, and play many kinds of sports. For lower extremity function, it is close relation between the power of knee and functional level. Because there is relatively little research in the correlation between strength of knee and the lower extremity functional test, this text carries on preliminary research in this respect, to compare the correlation among isokinetic strength of knee and the common functionality test index in aging adults. Significance:Improve the reasonable evidences for making training plan in aging adults through finding out the best index relative to isokinetic strength. Measure:At 46 older people living nearby Beijing Sports University as the research object this text, use Biodex isokinetic system and functional test, to examinating the isokinetic strength of knee and the index of those functional test (TUGT,6m normal speed walking,6m fast speed walking, three posture balance standing, FTSST). Through statistical analysis the correlation of those data by SPSS22.0 Microsoft Excel 2010, draw following conclusions:Result:It’s most statistical relative between 6m fast speed walking and isokinetic strength of knee. Relative between FTSST and isometric contraction of knee is statistical(p>0.05). But both are low(|r|< 0.5). Others have no statistical relative to isokinetic strength of knee. Conclusion:Movements of knee in aging adults include sitting-standing, walking, turning around and sitting down. Those request not only muscle strength, but also ROM, balance ability, neurological-muscular ability and so on. All in all, it’s low relative between isokinetic strength and functionality test index in aging adults. For making complete training plan, we need to consider all the factors rather than muscle strength.
