Theories about the intercultural business communication have a trend of diversification especially after entering into the new century. And as one of the core definitions of the intercultural business communication, the intercultural business communication competence(IBCC) is also defined in many different ways even in the same discipline. At the same time,there exist many parallel definitions of IBCC in this interdisciplinary discipline. Different definition has its own emphasis on different aspects, the thesis lays emphasis on the intercultural business communication which is more practical in the real life. The thesis is going to build a new theoretical framework of IBCC on the basis of The International Competency Framework and Byram’s Conceptualization of Intercultural Communicative Competence. According to the new theoretical framework, the survey will design questionnaires to research the current condition of IBCC of students learning in Sino-foreign joint educational program.The respondents of the survey are the students majoring in hospitality management in TUC-FIU Cooperative College of Tianjin University of Commerce. As the respondents of the study, students studying in Sino-Foreign joint educational program need the IBCC more than other general university students. And with the popularity of Sino-Foreign joint educational program in China, there are more and more students learning in this kind of educational environment, but there is rarely research on their IBCC current status. TUC-FIU Cooperative College of Tianjin University of Commerce is one of the most typical examples of the Sino-Foreign joint educational program in China. It already forms its own teaching mode and has many graduates. Hence, students studying in here are the most suitable respondents of the survey.This survey is going to research the IBCC current status of students in TUC-FIU Cooperative College of Tianjin University of Commerce from the two main parts of the new theoretical framework, i.e. the intercultural business communication awareness and the intercultural business communication ability. Through the analysis, the current status of students’ IBCC will be revealed to some extent. And then the survey will present some suggestions on training IBCC in Sino-Foreign joint educational program.
